The Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates continues to strengthen its presence in global markets through its regular annual participation in Gulfood 2026, as part of an expansion strategy aimed at boosting exports and opening new channels for commercial cooperation with major international importers and distributors.
The group’s participation in the 2026 edition of Gulfood underscores its commitment to a carefully planned expansion across diverse foreign markets, which represent one of the core strategic pillars for the growth of Egypt’s food industry exports.
Gulfood as a Platform for Expansion and Partnerships
Eng. Ahmed Elsebaie, Managing Director of the Egyptian Swiss Group for Pasta, Milling, and Concentrates, said the group is keen to participate annually in Gulfood, describing it as the largest specialized event for the food and beverage sector in the Middle East and Africa. The exhibition brings together thousands of buyers from around the world and serves as a key platform for showcasing the latest trends and products in the food industry.
Elsebaie explained that specialized exhibitions—led by Gulfood—are an effective tool for direct engagement with potential clients and for expanding the base of international buyers. They also provide an important opportunity to showcase the group’s latest products and to introduce existing clients to ongoing developments across its production lines.
Record Food Export Figures Drive Companies to Sustain Growth
Elsebaie noted that Egypt’s food industry exports achieved a record high for the first time, reaching $6.8 billion in 2025, supported by strong growth in the exports of several products as well as expansion into multiple markets.
He added that this export growth places greater responsibility on companies to continue delivering success and increasing their export volumes, in order to strengthen the “Made in Egypt” brand across global markets.
Elsebaie also emphasized that the group’s repeated participation in Gulfood reflects its long-term vision of building sustainable relationships with international trade partners and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in regional and global markets, thereby supporting national exports and increasing foreign currency inflows.
Official Opening and Broad Egyptian Participation
Gulfood 2026 was officially inaugurated in its 31st edition in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, highlighting the exhibition’s exceptional importance on the global map of specialized food industry events.
Elsebaie highlighted the pivotal role played by the Food Export Council in organizing Egypt’s participation at the exhibition, noting that around 175 Egyptian companies took part this year. Of these, 164 companies participated within the Egyptian pavilion, organized in cooperation between the council and the exhibitions authority, across a total area estimated at 1,700 square meters. Other companies opted to participate independently with larger spaces and customized booth designs.
